New Honda’s FCX Clarity | No gasoline | hydrogen | electric Car

Honda’s FCX Clarity FCEV is much more efficient than conventional gasoline-powered vehicles in converting chemical energy into power. The Honda FCX Clarity FCEV is not an experimental or prototype vehicle.
In gasoline-powered vehicles, fuel (gasoline) is used to heat and expand air, which then drives the engine’s pistons and crankshaft.
Fuel cell vehicles, on the other hand, are much more efficient, because the conversion of fuel (hydrogen) to electricity, used to power the electric drive motor, is a more direct electrochemical process. Water is a by-product.

And since the FCX Clarity FCEV has significantly fewer components in the drive system, no pistons and no camshafts, the energy loss from these systems is eliminated.

Vehicles that use hydrogen fuel cell technology instead of gasoline are about the cleanest around because they emit only water vapor into the air. They also use hydrogen from domestic energy sources, reducing our dependence on oil. And driving fuel cell vehicles significantly reduces the amount of carbon dioxide emissions, helping to slow the increase in greenhouse gases.

To develop a fuel cell vehicle worthy of the Honda name, our engineers worked tirelessly to ensure that the FCX Clarity FCEV was:

* Safe for the public
* Operable in freezing weather
* Able to drive a reasonable range before refueling
* Easy to refuel
* Sporty and fun to drive
* Spacious and comfortable

Hydrogen Safety
Sensors are located throughout the vehicle to provide a warning in the unlikely event of a hydrogen leak. Should such a leak occur, the ventilation system is activated and an automatic system closes the main cut-off valves on the hydrogen tank or supply lines as necessary. The high-voltage lines are electrically isolated. In the event of a collision, the system controller automatically shuts off the flow of hydrogen and electric current. Repeated flood and fire testing have confirmed a very high level of safety and reliability.

Refueling Safety
Honda has taken safety precautions with regard to refueling safety. To prevent reverse flow from the tank, the hydrogen filler inlet has an integrated check valve. The fuel intake mechanism is also designed to prevent contamination by other gases or the connection of nozzles designed for hydrogen stored at incompatible pressure levels.

Honda 100% Fuel Cell Electric Car

New Honda FCX Clarity
From the start, Honda engineers designed this car to be tons of fun to drive. The FCX Clarity Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) has a smooth and powerful electric engine for a great overall driving experience.

Information gleaned from multiple generations of Honda fuel cell vehicles pays off right now. Compared to the previous model, the powertrain on this next-generation FCX Clarity FCEV:

* Is over 397 pounds lighter
* Has 120% better power-to-weight ratio
* Is 20% more fuel efficient
* Is 45% more compact and 10% more energy-efficient

Free and Clear
First, the basics: the FCX Clarity is an electric vehicle. A fuel cell vehicle is powered by an electric motor running on electricity generated by a hydrogen-powered fuel cell stack. The more efficient Honda E-Drive electric motor lets you drive with peace of mind knowing that you are helping to reduce the amount of CO2 being released in our atmosphere. The compact coaxial motor is quieter and can run at higher rpm, for greater efficiency and speed.
Get Vertical
The Vertical Flow (V Flow) fuel cell stack is one of Honda’s greatest breakthroughs in this area. The new design is smaller, allowing for better packaging efficiency. With a smaller stack, there’s room for more people. This ingenious design allows higher cell voltage stability and reduces the amount of heat generated. Gravity also helps with drainage of the excess water.
Added Power
The compact, high-efficiency lithium-ion battery pack is used as a supplemental power source capturing lost energy during deceleration and braking. The new lithium-ion battery delivers improved performance and energy recovery in a more lightweight, compact package. The new battery is significantly lighter and smaller than the ultra-capacitor of the 2005 FCX, allowing it to be stowed under the rear seat. This gives the car more passenger space and a bigger trunk.
Low Profile
Stylish? Definitely. It’s time to take another look at the FCX Clarity FCEV. This new model has a lower floor and sleeker overall design thanks to integration of the more compact stack and smaller powertrain. Thin A-pillars allow better visibility. A flat-bottom underbody reduces aerodynamic drag and increases efficiency.

The most distinctive feature of the FCX Clarity Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV). other than the fuel cell itself—is the streamlined layout made possible by its compact and efficient powertrain components.
And make no mistake, the Honda FCX Clarity FCEV is an electric car. The fuel cell combines hydrogen with oxygen to make electricity. The electricity then powers the electric motor, which in turn propels the vehicle. Water is the only byproduct the FCX Clarity FCEV leaves behind.
Roll over the numbered steps to learn about each stage of the process.
1. Hydrogen tank – Stores hydrogen
2. V Flow fuel cell stack – Generates electricity
3. Lithium-ion battery – Stores electricity
4. Power Drive Unit (PDU) – Governs electrical flow
5. Electric drive motor – Propels vehicle

Tesla Roadster Sport Car Electric

Tesla Roadster Charging and Batteries:
This Car about 220 Miles between charges before now, electric vehicles typically capped off around 60 miles per charge, relegating them to the status of commuter cars. Tesla Roadster sport car changes all that. Plug it in at night when you pull into the garage and you can drive about 220 miles on that charge the next day.
Just like the fuel gauge in your existing car, the instruments inside the Tesla Roadster indicate how many more miles can be driven before you need to think about recharging. So unlike the old days of electric vehicles, now you can "drive electric" without the anxiety you'll run out of charge and be left stranded.
Tesla Roadster Car Charge At Home or On the Road Plug your Tesla Roadster into its at-home charging unit, and you'll be fully charged in about 3.5 hours. But Tesla consider this a "worst case" for someone starting with a completely dead battery. Even after a 100-mile trip, you can be completely charged in less than two hours.* And should you need to charge on the road, packed away in the trunk is an optional mobile-charging kit that lets you charge from most standard electrical outlets while away from home
Tesla Roadster with abetter Battery Unlike the lead-acid or nickel metal hydride batteries in most electric cars, which are heavy and difficult to dispose of , Tesla use a proprietary Lithium ion battery pack. Nickel cadmium batteries were notorious for memory problems, and nickel metal hydride batteries reduced this problem. The lithium ion batteries we use in the Tesla Roadster eliminate the problem. So there is no need to worry about waiting until the battery pack is fully discharged before recharging it: feel free to charge your car whenever you have access to power.
Even with the demands of charging and discharging the battery pack on a daily basis, the batteries in the Tesla Roadster will give you more than 100,000 miles of peak performance driving. After that point, the battery will see only gradual drops in performance over time.
Tesla Roadster Safety battery: Your personal safety is a priority for Tesla . From the battery technologies we've chosen, to the unique design of our battery pack, our testing shows just how safe the Tesla Roadster is, even in extreme worst-case scenarios. get the new Electric sport car.

The New Efficiency car
Tesla Roadster Car offers double the efficiency of popular hybrid cars, while generating one-third of the carbon dioxide. Compare the Tesla Roadster against other sports cars and the results get better still: it is six times as efficient and produces one-tenth the pollution, all while achieving the same performance and acceleration.
Well-to-Wheel How can you know, with certainty, how efficient one car is versus another? Tesla conducted a “well-to-wheel” accounting for all fuel efficiency and emissions of several types of high-efficiency cars, including an estimate for the Tesla Roadster car, based upon performance prototypes.

Electric Power Of Tesla Roadster car
Drive Quickly, Tread Lightly Most electric vehicles operate under the assumption that driving is merely a necessary evil if you need to get someplace you can’t reach on foot or bike. The result has been cars that are designed, built, and marketed in ways that refuse to glorify driving.
Tesla respectfully disagree. Tesla believe driving is exhilarating. Just watch any child on a go-cart and the joy is plain to see. And when you can soar along at top speed, knowing the only oil in the car is in the transmission, the only emissions are the songs from the radio, the ride becomes more enjoyable still.
The Ultimate Multi-Fuel Vehicle
Electric cars equal freedom. Not simply from oil reliance, but from dependence on any specific power source. Electric power can be generated from natural gas, coal, solar, wind, hydro, and nuclear sources, or a combination of all of them , without changing the design of the car. No matter how or when the world changes, the car adapts, making it immune from obsolescence.
Tesla foresee a day when all cars run on electric power and when people will struggle to remember a time when a love of driving came with a side order of guilt.
No More Tradeoffs
Up until now, if you wanted a car with amazing gas mileage, you’d pick something like the leading hybrid; but when you pressed down the gas pedal to zip up a freeway on-ramp, you'd likely be a little disappointed , it takes over 10 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. On the other hand, if you demanded the 0 to 60 times of a $300,000 supercar, you'd wind up with an embarrassing 9 miles to the gallon in the city.

Sport Car Electric By Tesla

Electric sports car Tesla Roadster with Electric, Fantastic high-performance Efficiency Car.
Tesla Roadster Acceleration and Torque is Instant Freedom, prepare to be surprised, on freeway speed in seconds without even thinking about it. There is no clutch pedal to contend with and no race-car driving techniques to perform. Just the touch of your foot and you're off, without any of the sluggishness of an automatic.
How powerful is the Tesla Roadster acceleration? A quick story to illustrate. The trick Tesla Motors is to invite a passenger along and ask him to turn on the radio. At the precise moment we ask, we accelerate. Our passenger simply can't sit forward enough to reach the dials. But who needs music when you're experiencing such a symphony of motion.
Rest assured that this responsiveness works at all speeds, as noticeable when you're inching your way through parking lots as when flying along freeways.
100% Torque, 100% of the Time The Tesla Roadster delivers full availability of performance every moment you are in the car, even while at a stoplight. Its peak torque begins at 0 rpm and stays powerful at 13,000 rpm.
This is the precise opposite of what you experience with a gasoline engine, which has very little torque at a low rpm and only reaches peak torque in a narrow rpm range. This forces you to make frequent gear changes to maintain optimal torque. With the Tesla Roadster, you get great acceleration and the highest energy efficiency at the same time. All while requiring no special driving skills to enjoy it. This makes the Sport car Tesla Roadster six times as efficient as the best sports cars while producing one-tenth of the pollution.

Sport Car with Electric By Tesla

Electric cars just don't have to be as complex mechanically as the car you're probably driving now. Sophisticated electronics and software take the place of the pounds and pounds of machinery required to introduce a spark and ignite the fuel that powers an internal combustion engine.For example, the typical four-cylinder engine of a conventional car comprises over a hundred moving parts. By comparison, the motor of the Tesla Roadster has just one: the rotor.
The engine and transmission of a conventional car also need lubricating oils, filters, coolant, clutches, spark plugs and wires, a PCV valve, oxygen sensors, a timing belt, a fan belt, a water pump and hoses, a catalytic converter, and a muffler — all items requiring service, and all items that aren't needed in an electric car.

Sport car Tesla Roadster's elegantly designed powertrain consists of just the four main components:
Tesla Roadster Energy Storage System (ESS):
Tesla battery pack ( the car's "fuel tank") represents the biggest innovation in the Tesla Roadster and is one of the largest and most advanced battery packs, it's heavy, expensive, and offers limited power and range, combined basic proven lithium ion battery technology, with unique battery pack design to provide multiple layers of safety. It's light, durable, recyclable, and it is capable of delivering enough power to accelerate the Electric Tesla Roadster sport car from 0 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds.
Motor
More important than the motor's size or weight is its efficency. Without proper efficiency, a motor will convert electrical energy into heat instead of rotational energy. So Tesla designed the motor to have efficiencies of 85 to 95 percent; this way the precious stored energy of the battery pack ends up propelling you down the road instead of just heating up the trunk.
Transmission
Sport car Tesla Roadster transmission couples the fuel efficiency of a manual with the driving ease of an automatic. The Tesla Roadster has only two forward gears, allowing you to fine-tune your driving experience (but either gear will work for most driving scenarios). Unlike a manual transmission, the car will not stall if you have it in the wrong gear. There's also no clutch pedal. Just move the lever and the electronic control module takes care of the shift, so you can launch from a full stop to freeway speed without taking your focus off the road, your foot off the accelerator, or your hands off the wheel.
Power Electronics Module (PEM) :
Most of the subsystems in the Tesla Roadster Sport car are completely electronic and under direct software control. But unlike all other cars, these systems are not a hodge-podge of independent systems — instead, they are designed as an integrated system, the way complex network and computer systems are designed today.
See the hub of this network every time you pop the trunk — the Power Electronics Module. When you shift gears or accelerate in the Tesla Roadster, the PEM translates your commands into precisely timed voltages, telling the motor to respond with the proper speed and direction of rotation. The PEM also controls motor torque, charging, and regenerative braking, and it monitors things like the voltage delivered by the ESS, the speed of rotation of the motor, and the temperatures of the motor and power electronics. The Tesla PEM controls over 200 kW of electrical power during peak acceleration , enough power to illuminate 2,000 incandescent light bulbs.
