Chevy HHR 2.2L with ECOTEC Engine:149-hp 2.2L ECOTEC engine with an EPA estimated 30 MPG hwy : ECOTEC Engine All LS, and 1LT models are powered by a standard 2.2L DOHC ECOTEC engine that puts out 149 hp at 5600 rpm and 152 lb.-ft. of torque at 4200 rpm. This engine also delivers excellent fuel economy — an EPA estimated MPG city of 21 in HHR models and 20 in HHR Panel models, and 30 MPG highway in both models with the standard manual transmission. With the available automatic transmission, this engine produces an EPA estimated MPG 22 city, 30 highway in HHR and HHR Panel. Both transmissions give you a highway driving range of up to 480 miles.
Chevy HHR Manual TransmissionStandard on all HHR and HHR Panel models is a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox. It provides five synchronized forward gears and a synchronized reverse gear to help prevent grinding of the gears if reverse is engaged before the vehicle is at a complete stop. The gearbox also employs a hydraulic clutch, which is designed to be efficient and reliable.
